Round Up of Menswear at the Golden Globes 2014

With awards’ season in full swing, our eyes here at ShopTheFinest are all on the best-dressed men and celebrities on the red carpet. Here are some of the best-dressed men from last night’s Golden Globes 2014 Awards:

Golden-Globes-Men-1

The positives: Matthew McConaughey, the ‘Dallas Buyer Club’ star, successfully pulled off a three-piece, Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo — in a surprising emerald velvet no less — with plenty of swagger. On the other hand, Chris Pine kept it traditional in a classic, black and white, Ermenegildo Zegna Couture tailored tuxedo with a grosgrain lapel.

Sartorial Advice: The length of Matthew McConaughey’s pants are a bit questionable and could use some additional tailoring.

Golden-Globes-Men-2

The positives: Usher, the R&B crooner, demonstrates that he could pull off an oxblood tuxedo from the Calvin Klein collection with a two-button notch lapel, while Bradley Cooper kept his cool in an exquisite Tom Ford tuxedo.

Sartorial Advice: For being a multi-millionaire, Usher should have gone all the way and invested in a hand-tailored tuxedo. Why go with a machine made tuxedo?

Golden-Globes-Men-4

The positives: Jared Leto, the best supporting actor winner for ‘Dallas Buyers Club,’ forgoes his typical, rocker grunge look for one of his go-to labels, Saint Laurent, in this black tux. The fringe scarf is a great signature touch.

Sartorial Advice: Leonardo Di Caprio’s pants are all bunched up! We recommend shortening them on the bottom. Idris Elba needs to know the difference between the main event and after party — a tuxedo with no tie is a major faux pas in our book.

So who’s the best-dressed of them all? It’s a close call between Bradley Cooper and Chris Pine. Perfect tailoring and proportions were key to their overall look. Looking for similarly tailored tuxedo for yourself or loved one? We invite you to begin your search with ShopTheFinest through our selection of the most exquisite, Italian handmade designer suits, pants, ties and pocket squares.
