Today we are testing an online shop, a rather unusual site since the owner, Ian Daniels, isspecialised in retailing at sale price, clothing from major Italian niche brands. “Niche brands”,”small luxury brands”, the category title does not matter, as long as the quality is the sale as the one we are used to promote on this website, which is the case.

As its name indicates, Shop the Finest is an American site designed for the American market and from the American market, very favourable to luxury ready to wear. The proposed discounts are important, from -50% up to -66% of the sale price shop. For a first, I choosed to confine to usual pieces I already had the equivalent: PT Pantaloni Torino pants and a Luigi Borrelli shirt, two reasoned choices, therefore, if not reasonable, so I was sure from the beginning that they would give me full satisfaction. The sleeved pieces would come later.

First, because the choice of Luigi Borelli shirts is very important (whereas it is not easy to purchase a Luigi Borelli shirt in French stores). Second because you can find a multitude of models of the Royal series collection (“royal” in reference to the royal family of Savoy of which Borrelli is the official supplier), even more exclusive and difficult to find. Last because other brands familiar to Milanese Special Selection’s readers, including Finamore or Barba Napoli, complete this picture. At the average price of 139 dollars (approximatively 128 euros, at the moment I write these lines), and between 159 and 199 dollars for the Borrelli shirts, it would be a pity not to purchase through Shop The Finest. Again the wide choice makes all the difference. The most represented brands are Luigi Borrelli (although the pants are not the speciality of the Napolitan, the value for money is excellent), Incotex, the pants maker of the Slowear group, and in smaller quantity, PT Pantaloni Torino (see the included photos.) The Slim, Super Slim, Extra Slim being prevalent, it is advisable to check carefully the measurements provided for each model and expressed in inches. Once again, prices deserve to stop and check: from 135 to 169 dollars are the average prices for pants. My only regret is not to find more Belvest pants (http://www.shopthefinest.com/collections/pants).
